Do you need gift ideas this Christmas? First of all, you don’t have to go very far for gifts that your family and friends will love.
“It’s a really an amazing place,” Demetra Carney said. “It’s not in Columbia, and you don’t have to go to Hattiesburg for everything. We are in Foxworth. We’re just trying to say, ‘Hey, there are great family nurse practitioners here. There’s a great clinic here. There’s a great pharmacy here. And, by the way, there are really some cool gifts here.”
Tonya and Clayton Farmer turned to Demetra for her retail expertise managing the Farmer’s MedShoppe boutique through the holiday shopping season and beyond. She fully comprehends the nuances of retail having run her own boutique in Columbia for eight years, but Demetra’s experience goes well beyond a resume.
Tonya, Clayton and Demetra are family. Tonya and Demetra’s husband are first cousins. Also, Clayton and Demetra grew up together having lived in the same town and have known each other their whole lives.
“We are extremely appreciative that Demetra will be managing our boutique,” Clayton said. “As the holiday shopping season becomes even busier with Christmas coming soon, our current and future customers at the boutique will benefit from Demetra’s taste. She’s so talented.”
What did Demetra’s customers find at her boutique?
“A variety of things…I carried some apparels, several different lines of candles, some bath and body kind of products and gifts. I even did a few things for just home décor,” Demetra said. “I would find cool things. It was an eclectic mix of cool, odd, and unique things. I always tried to carry different lines than our local gift stores. It was a similar approach to Farmer’s MedShoppe.”
Farmer’s MedShoppe will be holding an Open House for the general public on Friday, December 4 from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. If you have not been to Farmer’s MedShoppe or you would like to learn more about it, this event is for you. Visitors can experience the boutique, pharmacy and The Clinic at Farmer’s MedShoppe.
